McDonald's Nasi Lemak Burger returns 2023 Review

I was over the moon when I saw that McDonald's had launched a limited time menu inspired by the local favourite nasi lemak. I couldn't wait to try the Nasi Lemak Burger for lunch today and I quickly placed my order on the mobile app, but I was so eager that I forgot to use the deal voucher to add on the Cocoa-Nut Pie for only $1. 😒 Don't make the same mistake as me!

How the burger looks like in reality

The Nasi Lemak Burger

The Nasi Lemak Burger is pretty awesome. It has a generous amount of spicy sambal sauce, crunchy cucumber, sweet caramelized onions, juicy chicken cutlet and a perfectly fried egg. The coconut flavour is subtle but noticeable, and the sambal gives it a nice kick. The chicken is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

Deconstructed burger for your reference

Potato Wedges

I'm a fan of wedges. They have a crispy and flavourful skin, with a soft and fluffy interior. My picky little eater child, who usually fusses a lot during meals, tried one piece and fell in love with it. She gobbled up the whole thing in no time, which is rare for her.

I didn't get to try the Bandung Frappe and Cocoa-Nut Pie this time, but I'm definitely going back for them next week. They look so tempting and delicious.

The ala-carte burger costs $8.30, so if you want to have the wedges, it's totally worth getting the 2x Value Meal. You just need to pay an extra $1.10 each to upgrade from normal fries to potato wedges. Trust me, it's worth every cent!
