Gyu nami - Wagyu Roast Beef Donburi at Amoy - Now at Orchard Gateway (updated on July 2023)

If you work near Amoy hawker centre consider yourself really fortunate. Amoy hawker centre has some of the best hawker food in Singapore, or at least Central area.

A new addition on the block is Gyu Nami. There is only one item on the menu, and that is their Wagyu Roast Beef Donburi for $10. For now they are offering free shaved black truffle on the top of your don.

It's a bowl of premium Japanese rice, wrapped around with slices of tender roast Wagyu beef and topped with an onsen egg. The runny yolk makes the whole dish moist and goes so well with the meat. For $10, this is a steal!

This stall was only opened mid-August and it's already gaining popularity and drawing crowds during lunch hour. So if you want to grab a bowl, try to get there before 12pm. They are only open for lunchtime for now as they have limited stock.

Who would have thought that wagyu beef would be served at a hawker centre? Only in Singapore!

Update as of 2023, they are now located at Somerset, and the Amoy outlet has closed. Price has gone up and no longer $10. I wished they didn't move and could keep the prices low though.. Now most of the cost goes to their exorbitant rent I'm sure.
